At CPNL, we are embarking on a large-scale project to study the mechanisms of human transcriptional regulation by generating and analyzing multiomics data including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, and scFOODIE, under the leadership of Prof. Xiaoliang Sunney Xie. The data will be made available for download and visualization online. As such, we are looking to recruit a senior bioinformatician to build and maintain an online database for data query and download, as well as a web server with a genome browser for data visualization.
The ideal website should be akin to renowned international bioinformatics platforms such as ENCODE (https://www.encodeproject.org/), HCA (https://data.humancellatlas.org/), and UCSC Genome Browser (https://genome.ucsc.edu/index.html). Therefore, it would be advantageous if candidates come from these labs (for example Max Haeussler’ lab at UCSC) and have experience in the design and development (coding) of such websites. Other similar esteemed websites include NCBI (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/), EBI (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/), Ensembl (https://asia.ensembl.org/index.html), and China's NGDC (https://ngdc.cncb.ac.cn/). Candidates from these labs are also welcome.
Additionally, candidates with experience in developing smaller databases and web servers will also be considered. Typically, these candidates have first/corresponding-author papers in journals such as Nucleic Acids Research (Database Issue and Web Server Issue) and Database from Oxford Academic Press.
任职要求:
Candidates should be experienced bioinformaticians, usually holding a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics or computational biology, and currently in positions such as senior bioinformatician or senior postdoc. However, their expertise should focus on database or web server development rather than purely data science or AI. Notable Chinese scientists in this field include Ting Wang (https://genome.wustl.edu/people/ting-wang/) who worked for UCSC Genome Browser, Yiming Bao (http://big.cas.cn/sourcedb/zw/zjr
